Seatly is a small, independent software company building one thing well — a restaurant booking platform that doesn't take a cut of your covers.
Why this exists
UK independent restaurants pay enterprise prices for software that was built for chains. OpenTable charges a fee on every cover. ResDiary ties you into an annual contract. Quandoo is closing its UK operations altogether. None of it was designed for a 40-cover bistro, a village gastropub, or a small group running a couple of sites.
So a lot of good restaurants still take bookings on paper or over the phone — not because they want to, but because the digital options cost too much and fit too poorly. Seatly is the alternative. A flat monthly subscription from £59. A white-label widget that stays under your branding style and restaurant name. UK GDPR by default, with data kept in London. No per-cover fees, ever.

Why I built it
I'm Harnake — an engineer with over a decade of experience building software and working in the IT industry, and the person who designed, built, and now supports Seatly.
I built Seatly because UK independents kept getting chain prices for booking software that was never built for how they actually work. I wanted to make the thing they deserved instead — one well-made tool, not a sprawling platform you pay for and use a tenth of.
I built it on my own, over about fourteen weeks of focused work, and tested it the whole way through with real UK operators rather than in a vacuum.
Because it's just me, you get something the big platforms can't offer. When something breaks or you need a change, you're talking to the person who wrote the code, not a support tier.
